Getting to the Glen
The entrance to Alva Glen is on the north edge of the town of Alva, which lies on the A91 road from Stirling to St Andrews, about 7 miles from Stirling.
There are regular buses to Alva from Stirling and Alloa (First Bus 62 and 63, every 20 minutes during weekdays and Saturdays, hourly in the evening and on Sundays). The No 23 bus between Stirling and St Andrews also serves Alva.
From the main street, turn north up Brook Street (east of the main row of shops, next to the Johnstone Arms Hotel). The Glen starts just beyond the north end of Brook Street. Continue northwards, with the disused building on your left and the burn on your right. In about 100 metres, as the trees begin, there's a fork in the road with a footbridge on the right. If you're on foot, you can either cross the bridge or take the right fork. Drivers should take the left fork, up the hill to the car park.
