Alva Glen Heritage Trust

A view looking down Alva Glen to the Forth ValleyAlva Glen is one of the most dramatic and popular glens in the Ochil Hills. Its wooded gorge cuts deep into the hills, and offers easy walking in spectacular and beautiful surroundings. The glen is peaceful today, but not so long ago it was a busy place, a centre of the Clackmannanshire textile industry. Further back in time, neolithic people lived out their lives hereabouts.

Alva Glen Heritage Trust is run entirely by volunteers, and exists to safeguard and improve the natural and cultural heritage of Alva Glen. Members of the Trust regularly work together on conservation tasks such as tree-planting, scrub clearance, and path maintenance. The Trust has also revived the famous annual Alva Glen Illuminations.

We are always looking for new people to join in with our activities. Follow the links on the left to find out more about the glen, the Trust, and what we do.
