New tool store and old tools

Sunday saw the inauguration of our new tool store, with everyone pitching in to move our tools into the container. Volunteers and new tool store

Although we haven’t got much in the way of tools, it will be far easier to have them all in one place. The container was paid for by money raised during the 2011 Illuminations.

Timber! Fallen tree in the glen

No pictures from our August workday, but there are a few spectacular pictures from the ash tree which fell across the Rose Bridge! Ash tree fallen across the Rose Bridge in Alva glen The council have already arranged to clear the debris, then we’ll have to consider how to repair the railings.

September workday - enjoying the last of the good weather?!

Work is continuing in Alva Glen – as well as work to build new dry stane dykes around the glen, a group of volunteers were out on Sunday to continue the work on the lade and Eadie Monument.

One group worked to improve the paths, putting in place edging stones and improving the surface, whilst another tackled some of the overgrown trees.
